Description
The Monkey is a 2025 American supernatural horror comedy written and directed by Osgood Perkins, based on Stephen King's 1980 short story. Theo James plays twin brothers Hal and Bill, with Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, Adam Scott and Elijah Wood. As boys, the twins find a wind-up toy monkey among their missing father's belongings. Every time someone turns its key and it beats its drum, a person nearby dies in a freak, gruesome accident. After a string of deaths, the brothers seal it in a box and throw it down a well. Twenty-five years later the killings start again, and the estranged twins have to face the monkey once more while Hal tries to hold on to his relationship with his son. The Monkey was released in cinemas by Neon on 21 February 2025 and became a box-office success.
